Deepika padukoney is not just India’s top-paid actress, she is also among the top 10 highest-paid actresses in the world, according to Forbes. The actress is the only Indian on the list with earnings of $10 million. The list is headlined by Jennifer Lawrence, with total earnings of $46 million.

The one Bollywood star we expected to see on the list was Priyanka Chopra. She is the lead star of ABC’s Quantico and will be soon making her Hollywood debut with Dwayne Johnson-starrer Baywatch. However, Priyanka failed to make it to the top 10. Media has been abuzz with a rivalry between Priyanka and Deepika given the fact that both the actresses will be seen making her Hollywood debuts soon. 

Amitabh Bachchan come back as angry man

Ram Gopal Varma had earlier  that eight years after Sarkar Raj, he would be reuniting with Amitabh Bachchan for Part 3 of the franchise which he'd kickstarted in 2005. The Big B's Godfathersque avatar as Subhash `Sarkar' Nagre has been one of his most memorable performances and the duo has been intermittently discussing how to take the franchise forward, clear that they wouldn't attempt it unless extremely sure of the content. 'Two-three ideas were worked upon and discarded, and now, finally, we have a script we both are excited about," says an upbeat RGV, adding that the film produced by Parag Sanghvi and Waves, rolls next month and will release in summer 2017.

French government honor for Kamla Hussan

Kamal Haasan will be awarded the Chevalier de L'Ordre Arts et Lettres (The Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by the French government at a special ceremony. The Order is part of France's premier award, the Legion of Honor. It has three ranks - Chevalier (Knight), Officier (Officer), Commandeur (Commander) - and two high offices. It recognises eminent artistes and writers, as well as those who have contributed significantly to furthering the arts in France and throughout the world.
